Birmingham Hotels

Birmingham, often overlooked on the tourist route, is a stately and proud city in its own right.

Birmingham was at the very heart of Britain’s industrial revolution, the many trades and professions it employed during this time are very evident to this day. Birmingham has a huge canal network (larger than Venice) sadly many of the buildings took a pounding during World War Two, and have since been replaced. Over the past few decades Birmingham has undergone a radical face-lift, much of the city is pedestrianised, but the city maintains its industrial roots while modernizing and appearing forward-thinking.

Notable Birmingham hotels include the Radisson Blue Birmingham, a towering modern complex with a gym, spa and a great location near Birmingham New Street Rail Station. The Crowne Plaza Birmingham City in Central Square is a favourite, and for an apartment option City Nites in Edward Street is a good option.

Birmingham is also notable for its authors who lived there, such as JRR Tolkien, Conan Doyle and Washington Irving. The National Exhibition Centre is host to over 180 exhibitions throughout the year, and Birmingham’s lively nightlife is complemented by the ability to take a short drive out into the country-side, where a more relaxed pace of life can be enjoyed.
